01. About This Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy describes the browser storage and third-party technologies used by the SouthernLuxeStays website. It should be read alongside the Privacy Policy. The purpose is to explain the actual behaviour of this static project, not to list generic advertising systems that are not installed. Any future technical integrations should be reviewed before publication and recorded accurately here.
02. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small files or values that a website or external service may store through your browser. They can remember a preference, maintain a session or support analysis of how services are used. Not all browser storage is a cookie, and not all cookies are used for advertising. The technology and the purpose matter when deciding whether a visitor should be asked for permission.
03. Cookies Versus Local Storage
LocalStorage is a browser feature that keeps values associated with a website until they are replaced or removed. The supplied SouthernLuxeStays JavaScript uses localStorage, not document.cookie, for two preferences. Unlike a traditional HTTP cookie, those values are not automatically included in requests to the website host. This is an important distinction when describing what data the current site actually transmits.
04. How SouthernLuxeStays Uses Browser Storage
The first saved value records that a visitor has declared themselves at least 18. The second holds the categories selected in the consent interface, together with the time the choice was saved. These preferences help avoid repeated prompts between pages. They are stored locally and are not used to create a profile or infer gambling behaviour. The site does not store payment or hotel reservation details.
05. Essential Technologies
The age confirmation and consent preference values are treated as essential controls for operating this age-gated information website. The localStorage keys are sls_age_confirmed_v1 and sls_consent_v1. They contain a simple self-declaration or preference flags rather than proof of age. The website still permits visitors to review legal information before enabling any future optional technology; essential storage does not grant consent for analytics or advertising.
06. Functional Preferences
Functional technologies may support optional visitor conveniences, such as remembering display choices. The consent dialog offers a functional category, but this version does not implement additional functional storage beyond the necessary age and consent values. If new features are introduced, they should respect the category selected by the visitor and be explained in an updated policy. Enabling the checkbox today will not activate an unseen service.
07. Analytics Technologies
No first-party analytics tool is installed in the current build. We do not load Google Analytics or other page-tracking scripts through the supplied source code. The Analytics switch in the preference modal is a stored choice reserved for a possible future implementation. It does not independently enable a service, and any future tool would need clear disclosure and consent management before installation.
08. Marketing Technologies
The website does not currently include advertising pixels, retargeting tags, personalised advertising cookies or marketing identity services. The Marketing switch records a visitor's choice but does not load marketing technology. If the site owner later adds advertising integrations, the relevant providers, purposes, storage lifetimes and withdrawal options should be explained before such integrations go live. Advertising code must not run merely because a preference interface exists.
09. Third-Party Embedded Content
Certain visible features may request resources from other organisations. Google Fonts and icon resources are referenced as part of the visual presentation, and these providers may receive ordinary request information when their assets load. Hotel pages also include Google Maps embeddings, but the maps are explicitly click-to-load. The cookies or technical processing of an external provider are governed by that provider's own practices, which may change.
10. Google Maps and Privacy
Hotel location blocks provide addresses and a Load Google Map control. The map iframe is not inserted into the page until you click the button. At that point, your browser connects to Google's map service and Google may use technical information or its own cookies. You can avoid that connection by reading the text address instead. Clicking a separate directions link also opens an external Google Maps page.
11. Consent Management
On a first adult visit, the cookie banner presents Accept All, Reject Optional and Customise choices. Optional categories are not enabled by default in the customisation screen. Each selected preference is saved with a timestamp in your browser. Consent can be revisited using the Cookie Settings link found in the footer. A saved preference is not permission for the site owner to introduce undisclosed third-party tracking.
12. Cookie Duration
The two localStorage records in this release have no built-in automatic expiry date. They persist until the visitor changes preferences or clears browser storage. The saved consent record includes an ISO-formatted timestamp so that the choice can be identified locally. Separate third-party resources, if you choose to load them, may operate on different schedules and are not controlled by these localStorage values.
13. Data Retention
This build stores age and consent choices in the visitor's browser only. It does not upload those values to a SouthernLuxeStays customer profile or retain them in a proprietary server database. The storage may be deleted by clearing website data in your browser. Hosting services may keep technical access logs under their own policies, and external providers may have separate retention practices outside the site's direct control.
14. Browser Settings
Modern browsers provide controls to view or remove site storage, restrict cookies and clear historical data. Using those controls can reset the age prompt and the cookie banner. Some privacy extensions may block localStorage or embedded content, which can cause a preference to be requested again. If the website cannot save your choice, you may need to repeat the setting on another visit or in a new browser session.
15. Updating Your Preferences
Select Cookie Settings in the footer to reopen the custom preference modal. You can enable or disable the optional functional, analytics and marketing choices and save the result. Essential controls remain active while using the site. The interface does not currently provide a separate age self-declaration reset button, but clearing browser storage removes that local value. Your settings are specific to the browser and device you use.
16. Withdrawing Consent
You may withdraw consent for optional categories by reopening Cookie Settings, disabling those switches and selecting Save Preferences. Since the current release loads no optional tracking tools, the action changes a local preference rather than deleting third-party analytics records. If optional integrations are added later, the site owner must ensure withdrawal also blocks further optional processing. Previously collected external data, if any, would need to be addressed under the relevant provider's terms.
17. Changes to This Policy
The website owner should update this page whenever browser storage keys, third-party services or consent arrangements change. The published wording should reflect working code and actual deployment settings rather than planned functionality. Major changes may require a renewed choice from visitors. The Last Updated date near the top of this page identifies when this version of the policy was prepared, and should be revised when the policy changes.
18. Contact Us
For questions about SouthernLuxeStays and its browser storage, contact the proposed email address [email protected] once the site owner has configured that mailbox. Hotel operators and map providers are responsible for their own technologies and privacy notices. If you have a question about a reservation or gaming account, contact the relevant official operator directly rather than submitting account details through this website.
